Wow. Have to read this fast to make sense of it. There are very few punctuation marks in
these wills. Spelling is just awful, but I've left it as is. Hope someone can get some
good out of it.
I'm not related to these people at all, just thought it might be of interest to
someone on these lists.

Will of AMY BENNETT CAPPS, widow of JOHN CAPPS, mother of BENNETT CAPPS, daughter of
RICHARD AND ANN BENNETT. File #0596 - North Carolina, 7 Feb 1827
In the name of God Amen, this 7 of February in the year of our Lord, one thousand eight
hundred and twenty seven.
I now in my perfect mind and memory do make my last will and testament. I wish to dispose
of my property in the following manner. I will my beloved daughter, Amy, one cow, one bed
and furniture, one chest and her part of the household furniture. I will my beloved
daughter, Nancy, one cow, and bed and furniture and to have the loom to weave on at her
pleasure and to have my mare to go to mill or ride after any particular business. Amy and
Nancy each to have one third of my stock of hogs.
I will my beloved son, Bennett my plantation only that my two daughters Amy and Nancy I
give I give my house and one half acres of land including half of my garden. I give my son
my two head of horse "Beasts" and the balance of my stock after the above named
is taken of. One bed and furniture, one bit pot, one big oven and after the three beds and
furniture are taken of Nancy is to have the balance. Bennett is to have all the loose
property.
I do appoint Bennett Capps and JOHN TROXLER executors in my will and hereunto set my hand
and seal the date and year first above written.

In the name of God Amen. I John Capps of the county of Warren and state of North Carolina
being through the mercy of God tho weake in body yet of a sound and perfect understanding
and knowing the uncertenty of life and that we all must die and return to their mother
earth, I do constitute this to be my last will and testament and desire it may be taken as
such. I John Capps do give and bequive unto my wife Ame one Sorrel Meair and a black horse
that I have sent to Gilfort County and all my other property, whether here or elsewhere
for her own use to raze my children with only I give each child five shillings apeace
John, Matthew and Richard Mark and Bennitt Patty Ame Betsse Nancy Christan and Charity is
my children names and which I desire may have their five shiillings each and the remaining
part I desire she may sel give and dispose at her will and pleasure after my decese and I
desire it may be taken as my last will and testement I do constite my wife Ame to be my
