Saundra,
There is an Ida Capper about the right age showing in the 1880 census in
Miami County, Kansas who has a father named John, but looks like the
mother's name is different than Mary. Here is what the 1880 census
shows for this Ida Capper with her parents (from the 1880 census CD
that the LDS created)

I looked at Capper families in Indiana a few days ago in the 1850 and
1860
census and will look through my notes from those census's if you have
not already seen those to see if there is a family with a John and
Daniel Capper in it
still with their parents.
My ggg grandfather Meredith Capper (b. ca 1798 in Virginia) had a
brother
Charles Capper (b. ca 1797 in VA) who moved to Grant County, Indiana by
1840 but don't think he had sons named John or Daniel who moved to
Kansas.
The other Capper family in Decatur County, Indiana (from memory) was
Martin Capper who I have not been able to connect to my Capper
families. Martin Capper is the one I made notes on for further
reference in the 1850 and 1860 census in Indiana. Let me know if you
haven't seen those census's yet.
