This is my more formal introduction
PLEASE FOLLOW UP WITH YOURS if you want
I was born Sandra Eleanor Tyler in Salinas, Monterey county, CA in 1940
I graduated from Manteca High in Manteca, San Joaquin, CA in 1957
Was married to Richard Duncan 17 October 1957.
We had 4 fabulous children Ginger 1958, Carol 1959, Rich Jr. 1960, John 1964.
Attended college for 2 years in pursuit of a CPA degree but had to quit, (Yes
whiplash from an accident really does exist)
College is where I began my quest for my ancestors in 1970. Then asked my dad if we had
any ancestors that fought in the revolution, he sent me a list of his ancestors which he
acquired from one of his cousins and I took that list to my local Family History Center
(Mormon) which let me find my very first ancestor in the census in Albemarle county
Virginia. I screamed (Not the only) time. I started out my computer searching in 1980 on a
TRS-80 and on the Internet in 1991.
With the discovery of Rootsweb about 1996 it occurred to me that I could create
mailing list for the names that I could not find in their available lists. Then there were
over 25 that I was the administer of when I had a massive stroke in 1998 which left my
left side of my body paralyzed , so a cyber-friend got in touch with Rootsweb and someone
took over my lists for me.
I sat and vegged in front of the TV for a year before I decided to see how much mail
had accumulated in my mailbox. Well, there were over 500 but after deleting the spam and
the junk, I answered the simple ones first, until I finally got them all dealt with.
Today I am doing acupuncture and therapy for the stroke & hope to be walking
before 2004 I answer all my mail as soon as possible, still add to my 540,000 persons in
my data bank. And have just acquired an 80 gigabyte hard-drive added to my 100 gigabyte in
order to have room to store in 45 plus years of pictures and other stuff. My day usually
begins about 5 am and I am at the computer by 6 am until dinner at 6 pm and bed at 9 pm .
So that is my intro. I will be following with some personal lists of my family that I
still search for....Now let us hear your story
