There are two sets of Caples in the Little Rock area. There is the group
that came in there from Tennessee ca 1850. Then the group that was in North
Little Rock, AR who is related distantly to the other family but not closely
connected. The group in North Little Rock was born in Mississippi and their people
came from Alabama from Tennessee, then the family came to Arkansas ca
1917-18, first to Mississippi County, AR and then to Marianna area, then some moved
to the North Little Rock area. Cannot think of the name of the little area
there. I do not know which group you are seeking. If you would give me a little
more information, might be able to help.
The group from Tennessee that has been there so long has a book written about
that family. I do not have it but you should be able to find it. When you
tell me more, I can check their information and see if they are the family you
are researching. I have the census information and more but not the book.
The North Little Rock group had their lines from the same place in TN around
1810 as the other family but one of the lines went to AR and ours went to
Alabama, then Mississippi then into Arkansas.
My husband's mother was a Caples. His gr grandfather Sam Caples in buried in
a cemetery in North Little Rock.
