Thanks for the info about the Capewells from Connecticut. I haven't been
able to connect these Capewells with my family tree. Thanks again.

I am the historian/archivist at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Hartford, CT where
George J.
Capewell is buried. Our records indicate that George J. Capewell
was born in 1843, son of Mark A. and Jane E. Capewell. He was educated in
Woodbury, CT and went to work at age 15 for Scoville Mfg. in Waterbury, CT.
At age 20 he was Mechanical Superintendent of Cheshire Manufacturing
Company. In 1870 he went in to business for himself, manufacturing
specialities of his own invention and in 1876 began his major life work, the
invention of an automatic process to produce horse nails. In the fall of
1880 a perfected machines was exhibited to investors in Hartford and the
Capewell company was on its way. It is still in business today in
Bloomfield, CT.
He married Garafelia Hull of Cheshire, CT. She was the daughter of Andrew
and and
Catherine M. (Hitchcock) Hull. Their children were Ida Garafelia
Capewell, born April 29, 1866, died December 27, 1961, age 95 (never
married); Mary Alice Capewell, Born 1871, died March 31, 1949, age 78 (never
married); and George Joseph Capewell, Jr., born November 17, 1876, died
February 5, 1953, age 76. I believe he never married either as there is no
mention of a spouse in his burial records.
I hope this info is helpful.
