It was named after Captain Caperton, USN, who was named governor of one
of the Carribean Islands in the 1920s.and served in both the atlantic
and pacific fleets.
The Caperton received 11 battle stars for WW-II and Korea.

I must have missed something, concerning the Caperton battle ship.
I find that most
interesting.
Who is this Miss M. Caperton? Where was she from?
I am a Caperton descendant and you really don't see the name that much.
If you have E-Mail address for this information, I would like to have it.
Are just fill me in on this interesting information.
Do they have a list where all battleships are listed?
