Message Board Post:
I have a photo that had belonged to my g.grandmother... it is labelled "Lucy
Caperton, Ira Smith's girl"....
My great grandmother was Ella (Nash) Germany (1858-1941) of Spring Creek / North Bend,
Neshoba County, Mississippi... her son Reginald Nash Germany (1900-1994) who was my
grandfather went to school in Noxipater, Missisppi (where the Capertons where from).
I suspect that Ira Smith might be a cousin descended from g.grandmother Ella's Aunt
Martha M.B. (Nash) Jones who had daughters that married into a Smith and a Smyth family in
the 1870s....
Anyone connecten to the Ira Smith - Calhoun Caperton family, please e-mail me at:

Sincerely, Len
P.S. I see from a Gen-Web posting that the Capertons were definately from the Noxipater,
Winston County, MS area... Today, Noxipator is about 20 minutes by car from the Spring
Creek and North Bend communities of Neshoba County... so the photo of "Lucy Caperton,
Ira Smith's girl" seems to be a definate fit for this family.... Ira Smith who
married a Calhoun Caperton of Noxipater, (Winston County) Mississippi and having a number
of children including a Lucille Caperton born in the early 1900s:
The Gen-Web posting on the Caperton family is below:
ID: I1916
Name: Calhoun C. CAPERTON 1
Sex: M
Birth: 7 AUG 1881 1
Father: William Marion CAPERTON b: 22 OCT 1854

So the photo i have is very likely of the above Lucy Caperton who was the daughter of the
above Ira Smith.... "Lucy Caperton, Ira smith's girl". please relply to :
