Hi Robby,
Yep, all the way back to Bernard. I am at the office right now but will
pull all the details and send them to you. We come via central
California and Illinois.
BTW - Thank you for your service. It always amazes me that some spend
their entire lives making sure that we in the US have the right to
choose our destinies!
Thank you for our freedoms.
Christine

I appreciate your thoughts. I only served 27+ years in the military.
Although my last name is Robinson my mother's family was Capen. I have
almost 1900 Capens that I have found that I am related to. I'm missing
any from Nevada. I assume that originally your husband's family came
from New England? Would you be willing to share your information with
me?

Thanks Robby,
Let's not forget some of the Capen's that have bravely allowed us
freedom.
Here is our list from the Reno, Nevada branch of the Capen family:
My amazing, wonderful husband, Larry Stephen Capen, served in Vietnam
His brother, Paul William Capen Jr., served in Vietnam. Was killed by
a drunk driver about 20 years ago now.
Their father, Paul William Capen, was a true war hero. Served in WWII
and the Korean war. Because of his small stature he was a B17 belly
gunner and was shot down but lived. Went on to be a peace officer
until his retirement. Spent his entire life selflessly serving his
country.
Both Paul Jr. and Paul Sr. are buried at the Presidio in San
Francisco, CA.
Paul Sr.'s father, William Lincoln Capen, served in WWI and is buried
in Mattoon, Ill. We have the bible that he carried while in the
trenches.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend and don't forget to thank a veteran.

It is the
VETERAN,
not the preacher,
who has given us freedom of religion.
It is the
VETERAN,
not the reporter,
who has given us freedom of the press.
It is the
VETERAN,
not the poet,
who has given us freedom of speech.
It is the
VETERAN,
not the campus organizer,
who has given us freedom to assemble.
It is the
VETERAN,
not the lawyer,
who has given us the right to a fair trial.
It is the
VETERAN,
not the politician,
who has given us the right to vote.
It is the
VETERAN,
who salutes the Flag
It is the
VETERAN,
who serves under the Flag
Please keep in mind why we honor this weekend. Many wars have been
fought and too many men and women have given their lives so we may
celebrate in our freedom.
Let's not let the veteran stand alone when that flag passes us by in
your local parade. Remember all the men and women they have known that
did not come home. Raise your arm and honor those who gave us the
future.
