Good Morning Everyone --
Just FYI, our number is now up to 14 members. Thanks for joining!
You might want to take a moment to introduce yourselves and tell us about
your CAPEHART ancestry. Ahnentafels or decendancy charts are OK but please
trim them to include only the relevant people (e.g. children of George WHITE
m. Mary CAPEHART would be appropriate but their children's children
wouldn't. The following descendant listing is an excellent example of a
good query - note the ROGERS children listed. A.D. would appreciate any
inputs you might have on this line so post any info you might have.
Again, welcome and I hope you enjoy the list.
Good Hunting!!
Take Care -- Paul

I am not a Capehart descendant, but I do have some Capehart

that might be of use to someone. I am a LUSK descendant.

Hello Fellow Capehart/Caphart/Capheart/Capheart Researchers --
My name is Paul Smith and I would like to welcome
you to the Capehart list. The stated purpose of
this list is. . .
"A mailing list for the discussion and sharing of
information regarding the genealogy and history of
the Capehart surname and variations such as Capheart,
Caphart and Capeheart in any place and at any time."
If your message deals with the Capehart surname its
origin or its history, it is most welcome here.
Unfortunately, in order to maintain decorum and keep
things on track, a set of rules is required. I don't
forsee any serious problems but PLEASE read and heed
the following. . .
Do not send messages dealing with any product or
service for sale, test messages (send a query
instead), Thank You notes, virus warnings, FCC
rulings, chain letters, SPAM (UCE), jokes, etc.
to the list. In order not to get in the way of
our goals, the list will permit the mention of
books, charts and other genealogy related
merchandise so long as ordering info, prices,
addresses, etc. are not mentioned. An email
address or URL for more information is acceptable.
Do NOT send attachments such as photos, files,
etc.!! They will be stripped by RootsWeb.
Finally, DO NOT play listowner. It is my job to
deal with off-topic messages, insulting comments
(flaming), advertising, etc. You won't see it on
the list but trust me, I have taken care of the
problem. If there is an issue that is not handled
properly, please contact me privately at prsmith(a)houston.rr.com. I'm a
working stiff and
it may take a while but I will get back to you as
quickly as possible.
VACATIONS: The system is set up to remove
your email address from the distribution (to UN-
subscribe you) if four messages sent to you bounce.
PLEASE unsubscribe while you're on vacation.
By sending a message to this list, you grant to the
list custodian (that's me), and to his heirs and
assigns forever, permission to distribute copies of
the message to other list members, to store
archival copies of the message, and to make the
archival copies available to the Internet community
at large. You also grant to other list members the
right to quote your message in part or in total as
a part of their replies sent back to the list.
Also, by sending messages to the Capehart list,
you acknowledge that you have read and understand
this welcome letter and agree to abide by these
rules.
Please keep a copy of this email for future
reference.
You are currently subscribed in "mail mode", which
means that you will receive every posting made to
CAPEHART as a separate e-mail. The directions on
how to change to digest mode are given below.
1. How to unsubscribe. Send a message to
CAPEHART-L-request(a)rootsweb.com
that contains (in the body of the message) the
command
unsubscribe
and no additional text.
2. How to subscribe. Whatever you just did worked,
or you'd not be getting this message. But for
future reference (for instance,if your subscription
is cancelled for whatever reason and you want to resubscribe), just send
the command "subscribe" to
CAPEHART-L-request(a)rootsweb.com.
3. How to change to digest mode (several postings
are combined and sent to you together as a single
large message). There are two steps. First, send
the command "unsubscribe" to CAPEHART-L-request(a)rootsweb.com to
discontinue mail mode.
Second, send the command "subscribe" to CAPEHART-D-request(a)rootsweb.com
to start receiving digests.
4. How to change to NOMAIL mode. There is no formal
NOMAIL mode. All you have to do is follow the
directions above and unsubscribe when you want the
messages to stop, and then when you want them to
start again, simply subscribe again.
5. If you'd like to post a message so everyone on
the mailing list receives it, just send it to
CAPEHART-L(a)rootsweb.com. It will then be sent on
to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't
need to send it explicitly to both.
6. To contact the administrator of this mailing
list, send mail to CAPEHART-admin(a)rootsweb.com.
For your verification, a transcript of the
original subscription request is included below.
