WORCESTER- Williamina (Cape) Arnold, 89, formerly of 96 Clover St., died Sunday, Dec. 29,
in Quabog on the Common, West Brookfield, after an illness.
Her husband, Ansel T. Arnold, died in 1993. She leaves a son, Bruce W. Arnold of
North Brookfield; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and nephews. A son, James R.
Arnold, died in 1981; and a daughter, Jean M. Danforth, died in 1974. She was born in
Glasgow, Scotland, daughter of James and Margaret (Dobson) Cape, and moved here in 1924.
Mrs. Arnold was a member of Hadwen Park Congregational Church and served on its
diaconate. She was a member of the Daughters of Scotia, the Montachusett Council 118 Girl
Scouts, and was a Sunday school and Bible School teacher at Trowbridge Memorial Methodist
Church. She also volunteered for the Worcester Public Schools.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 2, in O'Connor Brothers Funeral
Home, 592 Park Ave., (
www.oconnorbrothers.com). Burial will be in Rural Cemetery. Calling
hours are 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 1, in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers,
contributions may be made to Hadwen Park Congregational Church Memorial Fund, 6 Clover
St., Worcester, MA 01603.
