Thanks for writing. I do not know Mary's maiden name. The following we
wrote in the Worsham and Washam Family History:
1.5.4.2. DRURY WORSHAM b abt 1730 Prince George Co., VA. md Mary abt 1752.
On 2 Apr 1751, Drury was a witness to a deed of sale from John Mann of Amelia
to Essex Worsham of Chesterfield.
On 27 Feb 1757, he was a witness to a deed when John Worsham of Chesterfield
sold land to Henry Worsham, the younger of said county. In Feb 1757, Drury
witnessed an indenture of testament made between Essex Worsham & John Worsham.
He was also a witness on 20 Apr 1757 to an indenture of testament between
Essex Worsham & John Worsham.
Essex Worsham, Sr. deeded 150 acres of land on 1 Feb 1758 to Drury Worsham of
Amelia Co., son of said Essex in consideration of love and affection. The
land located on "Wolf Branch where said Drury now lives joining lands of
Daniel Worsham, Matthew Jackson and Henry Crittenden." Wit: David Holt, John
Atkinson, Henry Worsham.
His father wrote his will 8 Nov 1758 in Chesterfield Co., VA and bequeathed
him 150 acres where he lives in Amelia Co. part of 300 acres. Also to son
Drury 1 negro & household goods at 21.
Drury d bef 23 Dec 1766 Amelia Co., VA on which date an inventory valued at
£81/7/0 was made of his estate by Daniel Wilson, Philip & Wm. Dunnavant. It
was recorded 27 Aug 1767.
John Cape & his wife Mary of Amelia Co. sold to Henry Worsham of Amelia land
on 30 Nov 1773 for £35. For Mary Cape's natural life. The land was
described as l/3 part of tract (no acreage given) on which Drury Worsham,
dec'd lived on, adj. Wolf Branch and including the plantation. Mary, wife of
John Cape relinquished her dower right on 23 Dec 1773. Wit: Mathew Jackson,
Philip Dunnavant, Jeremiah Crittenton. It is believed that after Drury died,
his wife Mary md John Cape.
Henry Worsham, the Younger of Amelia Co. sold to Daniel Worsham land on Wolf
Branch in Raleigh Parish for £91 on 23 Mar 1775. The land was bounded by
lands of Daniel Worsham, Drury Worsham, Dec'd & Peter Webster. Wit: Alex
McNabb, William Ford & James Chappell. Amelia Co. was created from Prince
George Co. in 1734."
