Cantrell Cousins
This is my situation----
Reference: The Cantrill-Cantrell Genealogy by Susan Cantrell Christie - Published Ca
1904.
My lineage according to the above book and repeated in various publications is as
follows: (Numbers and pages are as listed in the reference book)
# 1 (pg 3) Richard Cantrill, b.____ m. Dorothy Jones
# 3 (pg 7) Joseph Cantrill, b. Pa. Abt 1695 m. Catharina ______
# 7 (pg 8) John Cantrell , b. Pa. 1724 m. 1)___Brittian 2) Jane______
#12 (pg8) Abraham Cantrell. b. Pa. Abt 1744 m. 1)Unk 2) May be ____Watson
#33 (pg9) Abraham Cantrell, b. _____ m. Sarah Durham
#37 (pg10) Richard Cantrell, b. S. C._____ m. Martha Savage
#50 (pg10) Hardin Cantrell, b. S. C.______ m. Jane Forrest
#58 (pg 10) Hiram Payne Cantrell, Tn.b. ____ m. Hannah Cantrell

Raymond Cornell Lindley m. Ernel Mae Cantrell b. Ok.
1914
Kenneth Ray Lindley, b. Ok. 1933 m. Judith Kendall Nordin
Now my dilemma:
The Christie Publication lists Ca 1744 for # 12 Abraham and no birth year for #33 Abraham,
# 37 Richard, # 50 Hardin and # 58 Hiram Payne. Starting with # 58 Hiram Payne, his
application for a CSA pension states he was born in 1828 and an analysis of the 1850 -
1910 census supports that date. Number 50 Hardin, based on 1850 - 1880 census data was
born Ca 1798. Let's assume 1798 is correct for Hardin, although I have seen
publications showing 1806 without any support. If we also assume Ca 1744 is correct for #
12 Abraham then it means the first born for 3 generations were born when their fathers
averaged 18 years old. I know this is possible but I would to have some data to support
it.
Can anyone confirm birth year of #12 Abraham or provide birth years for # 33 Abraham or #
37 Richard? Do you agree Hardin was born in 1798.
