Is anyone looking for this information??...I don't think he is in my Cantrell line...I
cut this out of our local paper last year (Longview/Kelso Washington) and wanted to share
this obituary:
Ray C. Cantrell
Rainier (Oregon) resident Ray Claud Cantrell 90, died Jan. 14, 2000, at a Longview nursing
home.
Mr. Cantrell was born Feb. 22, 1909, in Rule, Texas, to Richard and Nellie Cantrell. He
served in the Marines during World War II.
He came to Columbia County (Rainier, Oregon) in 1935. He and Laura Mae Smith were married
June 13, 1937, in Portland (Oregon). Mr. Cantrell worked for many years in the finishing
room at the Kaiser-Gypsum plant in St. Helens, Ore.
He loved to raise white-faced cattle.
Survivors include his wife, Laura Mae, at home; two sons, Robert William Cantrell of
Bremerton, Wash., and Gene Edward Cantrell of Tualatin, Ore.; a daughter, Dorothy Trotter
of Silverton, Ore.; a nephew, Jay Dee Harris of Albuquerque, NM.; 14 grandchildren; and 13
great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 1p.m. Wednesday at Koble Cemertary in Goble (Oregon).
