Benjamin F. Cantrall
Illiopolis, April 27. - Benjamin F. Cantrall of Illiopolis, a retired farmer
for 22 years, died at 12:15 a.m. Tuesday at his residence at the age of 72
years.
He was the son of the late Joshua and Rebecca Hedrick Cantrall, who moved
from Cantrall to a farm west of Illiopolis in 1866. The farm remained in the
family and belonged to Mr. Cantrall when it was utilized as part of the present
ordnance plant.
Mr. Cantrall was the youngest of a family of 13 children. Surviving are his
wife, Fannie D.; daughter, Mrs. H. L. Barch; sister, Mrs. Clara Campbell;
granddaughter, Mrs. James W. Palmer; and several nieces and nephews.
Remains were taken to Bisch and Son where they may be viewed from 11 a.m. to
3 p.m. Wednesday and will be removed to the residence in Illiopolis Wednesday
evening where they may be viewed until the time of the funeral at 2:30 p.m.
Thursday. Rev. L. H. Hooe will officiate and interment will be in Riverside
cemetery, Illiopolis.

Charles W. Fox, 64, Dies At Hospital
Carpenter Was Lifelong Resident Of County
Charles Walton Fox, 64, of 1830 South First Street, lifelong resident of
Sangamon county, died at 6 p.m. yesterday at St. John's hospital following a
lingering illness.
Mr. Fox, who was a carpenter contractor, was born in Buffalo Hart and came
from Riverton to Springfield. He had lived here fro the last thirty-seven
years. He was a member of First Methodist church, Masonic Tyrian Lodge No. 333,
and Modern Woodmen of America.
Surviving are his wife, Mamie; two sons, Charles T. and Richard K. Fox, both
of city; four daughters, Mrs. John Reed, Mrs. Harley Mitchell, Mrs. Richard
Otken, and Miss Monica June Fox, all of city; sister, Mrs. Clara Kicks, Girard;
brother, Edward Fox, Dallas, Tex.; and five grandchildren.
Remains were removed to the Bisch Memorial home. Funeral arrangements are
incomplete.
