JAMES CANTRALL, AN OLD RESIDENT, PASSED AWAY
Decedent Born Near Cantrall And Spent Most of His Life Here
James Cantrall passed away at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Fred Kopp,
September 30, 1935, after an illness of four weeks.
He was born September 24, 1851 in Sangamon County near Cantrall. He spent
most of his life in and near Athens.
On August 31, 1882, he was united in marriage to Catherine Long. To this
union five children were born. He is survived by the following children: Edward
of Athens; Mrs. H. F. Cox of Pekin; and Mrs. Fred Kopp of Athens; one sister,
Mrs. Emma Trotter of Tulsa, Oklahoma; eight grandchildren; and a number of
other relatives.
Mr. Cantrall was of a very jovial disposition and seemed always to get so
much out of life. He had a keen sense of humor and was an accommodating neighbor
who made many friends over the span of life spent in this community.
Funeral services were held at the residence Wednesday, October 2, at 3:30
p.m. Interment was made in Hall Cemetery.
