MarJo:
Thanks for the tip on Mr. Warren Cantrell. BTW, I went to the library
today and found this entry in the 1860 Forsyth County, GA (town: Cumming)
Wilson Cantrell 46 M Blacksmith b. in SC
Elizabeth 30 F "
Mary J 16 F GA
Georgia A. 14 F "
Wilson 11 M "
Samantha 9 F "
Waddie 6 M "
I am almost positive that this is my Georgia I was looking for; the
Rabun Co, GA marriages book lists in 1877 her middle initial as "A," so this
collaborates. The only thing is that the 1880 and 1900 Rabun censuses lists
Georgia Cantrell Wilburn as having parents born in the State of GA, and her
birthdate as being 1854 or 1856. But you know how often these
inconsistencies arise when dealing with the census data!
This means that either Wilson Cantrell (b. in 1814 in SC) or
Elizabeth (?) (b. in 1830 in SC) would be my Cherokee ancestor.
I hope you don't mind my sending a duplicate copy of list to the list
so others might comment on the new information I found. Thanks for your help!
