Good Morning,
Have been asked to post the information gathered on all of these sites, so
for some of you, some of it will be review. Please correct and share back
with me. It will take me a little time to post all of the data I found,
time is one thing I don't have much of for a while.
I also found quite a bit of information on the Allen and Jordan family if
you are interested.
Not sure where I sould start but no matter, hear it goes,
There was a Thomas Cloude was born in the time frame of 1575 to 1580. He
married in 1605 Jane Nycholas in Calne, Wiltshire, England. They had at
least two children perhaps more, Their daughter Katherin was buried March
21 of 1607 or 08 in Calne. I have nothing else on her. And a son William
Cloude. We do not know for sure just when William Cloude was born but he
was baptized on Dec. 26, 1605. He married a lady named Joanne and they had
a son called William born in 1620 in Calne, England. Joanne according to
thne parish register was listed as a widow and was buried Nov. 27,, 1637 in
Calne. Now Calne England is about 100 miles west of London. It is a
merchant town.
The William Jr. married Susan James in June of 1647 at Calne and they had
eight children perhaps more but doubt it. that were all born in Calne. He
was know as William Cloud, the pioneer. He sailed from England to America
in 1682 and settled in Pa. I do not have the information on any of the
other children except on Jeremiah who was born on Feb. 7, 1658. He was
their sixth child.
Jeremiah married Elizabeth BAiley in 1685 (I need a new key board, it does
not uncap like it should) and they had eight children born in Pa. including
another William Cloud who was born @ 1690.
This William Cloud married Elizabeth Hayes @ 1719 and they also had eight
children including another William. I will call him William Jr. We do not
know when William Jr. was born but found written that he was not of age at
the time of his fathers death in 1748. Sure wish I could find a will on
this William Cloud.
William Cloud Jr., married Alice Hardin in Virginia and again they had eight
children inccluding the third child William (naturally we'll call him
William the third) who was born Sept 17, 1i750 in Grayson Co., Va. This
William Cloud, while in the Am. Rev. reached the rank of Capt. (I've been
told, could someone out there see what they might find on him in the Am.
Rev. records please) and became known as "Capt" Cloud.
William Cloud III (Capt.) was married three time. There was two children by
the first, ten by the second and two by the third. I only know the names of
two of these children. One was the first child by his second wife, Mary
Morgan. Guess what, of course, his name was William. And the second child
noted was that of his youngest child, Washington Cloud. Not sure this is
where I should put this but this William Cloud the fourth had at least two
sons Robert and Calvin. I may have more data later on. However, am not
going to take timeout to sort etc. at this time.
Now, there are census records that I believe to be this William Cloud who
was born in Va. in 1780. He married Rebecca Mitchell @ 1813. They had ten
children born in Rogersville, Hawkins Co., Tenn. (I did research this trip
to Rogersville. Am very much interested in the Campbell familly of that
area. abc)
William and his wife Rebecca with their family including son Robert M. moved
to Jefferson Co., Mo. and then about a year later moved on to Clay Township,
Green Co., Mo.
Robert Cloud married Nancy Ann (Simpson) Littrell ( perhaps Lutraul, not
sure of spelling) in 1847 in Greene Co., Mo. Robert and Nancy had seven
children.
I am gong to stop here for this time and will continue later with the
begets, begats and diedies, as the grand young people call them next time.
