Hello the List--------
Following this brief apology from me, I am forwarding a message from Warren.
I assume everyone knows how many years he has devoted to these CANTRELL's of
ours--a lifetime. I asked his permission to pass this info on to the list.
I didn't get it, but he didn't say no. Please don't be upset Warren. I
feel we should all share from our combined research and Mistakes.
I don't agree that we need to burn the entire book. There are some things
worth saving. It's just that it is very important for EVERYONE to VERIFY,
VERIFY, VERIFY everything you find. If it is a primary resource,
DOCUMENT!!!!!! Books, no matter how new or old, are good places to START.
I knew this and should have made it clear to begin with. I aplogize, to
Warren, and everyone out there. Sometimes, we tend to take things, (other's
knowledge of how-to) for granted that we shouldn't.
At least I found out there is "someone out there" and got something going.
The following info is directly from Warren Cantrell, Family Historian and
researcher "extraordinaire" .

I agree with MarJo! Let's put our heads together and see if we can come up
with what we know about these two women. The new LDS Ancestral File CD
includes parents for Talitha CLOUD... Jeremiah Jr. and Ann (Baily) CLOUD
who were married 1710 in Newark/Kennett Quaker Mtg., Delaware. We had a
discussion about this on the Quaker-Roots list and evidence for Talitha
being a child of this marriage seems extremely lacking.

Hi Warren and all,
I'm sorry to say that I had been led down the "primrose path" of Catherine's
possible ancestors too. I found my version of her parents through another's
GEDCOM files, and not having any reason to doubt it, and hoping to someday
verify it, put it into my files as fact.
I have a feeling there are a lot of us out there that also took her parentage
at face value, and will be surprised to find it not accurate.
Thanks for setting me straight!

Mary and Carol,
I think the source of your information on Merric Cantrell came from Julie
Cantrell. She has a database listed on Bruce Cantrall's Genealogy page, and
that's who I have in my files as the source of that line.
Hope it helps!

I have a listing in the 1860 DeKalb Co. TN. census which lists Joseph
Cantrell age 53 and Cyntha Cantrell age 49 as having a John E. age 3;
and the 1870 census lists him as John A. age 13.
I do not have a Jaben Cantrell in DeKalb Co. listed on either census.
I do not any census' for Warren County, Sorry.

Diane had written about the Catharina Heath's parents being John and Hannah
Haines Heath...
... those are not her parents.. I got led on the wrong path too, and had my
mom and dad related, but it turns out that information I got from the LDS
church was incorrect... Catharina was a Heath, but John Heath and Hannah
Haines were not her parents...
... Lori
Diane,
Please, please remove all information from your files that Catherine was a
daughter of John "Snow Shoe" and Hannah Haynes Heath. That was a ruor that
I started 25 years ago and have long regretted. John and hannah did not and
I repeat did not have a dau. named Catherine. Futher there is not proof that
Catherine was a Heath. That was a rumor that Nobel Bethel started in 1928.
His opinion was based on the 1747 will of John Heath that named a cousin,
Alice Cantrell as an heir. john and Hanah Haynes Heath never left MA or
Conn.

For Lord's sake take the Hannah Haynes junk out of your file. That was a
rumor that I started 25 years ago and have lived to regret. John "Snow Shoe"
and Hannah Hanes Heath did not have, I repeat. didnot have a daughter
Catherine among their 10 or 12 children.

people to marry as well as to have their children baptised. It was a
Lutheran Church for number of years but is now Episcopal. .... It was
convenient to the Scots-Irish living in Chester Co., PA. You can access
info about it over the Internet. Use the Infoseek Search Engine and type in
