His second wife is Olive Olivia Jarrell.
Lester R. Cantley, 106, of Peytona, died Nov. 9, 2007, at CAMC Memorial Hospital.
He was a retired coal miner, factory worker, merchant and carpenter. He was a member of
Drawdy Church of Christ.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Pearl Ball Cantley; second wife, Olive
Griffith Clendenin Cantley; daughter, Iris Jean (James) Thompson; stepsons, Bobby
Clendenin and James Lambert; stepdaughter, Freda Clendenin; stepgrandson, Robbie Holstein;
sister, Velma Moore; stepbrothers, Sebert and Joe Jr.; and stepsister, Macel Peters.
He is survived by his wife, Genevieve Holstein Lambert Cantley; son and his wife, Harold
and Roxie Cantley of Elyria, Ohio; stepchildren, Norene and Doyle Barker, Betty Holstein,
Rosetta and Rick Harless, Roger and Kim Lambert, David and Tracy Lambert, Phyllis and
Kenny Weeks, Juanita Williams; four grandchildren, Nancy Scarborough of Bartlett, Tenn.,
Cheryl Hunnicutt of Elyria, Ohio, Michelle Neubauer of Columbus, Ohio, Brian Thompson of
Brunswick, Ohio; five great-grandchildren, James, Alex, Jeffrey and Valerie Scarborough
and Zachary Hunnicutt; half sister, Thelma Mason of Seth; 14 step-grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren; and many nieces; nephews; and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Nov. 12, 2007, at Handley Funeral Home,
Danville, with Minister John Steele officiating. Burial will follow at Harless Cemetery,
Drawdy.
