I believe it is possible that Frank Canty (born abt. 1838) is the Francis Marion
Cantey (born 1836) (listed below after my notes about Frank Canty's family,) the
last son of James Cantey (born 1795) and Elizabeth Ann Nettles. I have found no
documentation to support this connection. I only have the similarity in names,
and approximate birth and death dates. I am interested in hearing speculation
or suggestions for further research and would welcome the opportunity to
correspond with descendants of the Cantey families listed below.

Census Information:
Census info below appears to be Martha Johnson and her second husband George W.
Walser, 3 of his children from his previous marriage, her 3 children from her
marriage to Frank Canty, and their only child from the Walser/Johnson marriage.
I don't know what to make of the notation that "Mary" below owns real estate
in
her own right - perhaps remnants of Frank Canty's estate? I would have expected
her property to be absorbed into Walser's property. Of course it is possible
that this "Mary" is not Martha Johnson Canty Walser, but another Walser woman.
I've checked over the Walser family and have not located another candidate for
this "Mary" Walser.
I have no census information for the Frank Canty/Martha Johnson family for 1850
or 1860.
