Okay it is time to post again and do a little begging.
I need something on my brickwall Joseph Whittaker born 1754 at sea, parents
die at sea coming from somewhere in England. Someone (who)? took Joseph and
raised him somewhere (Where?) in North Carolina. He was bounded out to pay
passage or keep, ( any record of the bonded out part)? He marries Obedience
(Biddie) Perdue possibly in Surry County/Old Mt. Airy also marries a Camilla
Adkins, ( no records found of these marriages). I have a copy of his will
from Wythe County, Va. 1838 so he must have died there, Where is he buried?)
I have a copy of his Rev, War Pension Application that states these things
and that he fought at Point Pleasant. I have no other documents or clues. Can
anyone do lookups and help solve the mystery of Joseph?
Levi Canter I have had a bit of success on but still many questions. He
married Sarah ? ( Sarah who and where? ) He marries Rebecca James 1815 in
Scott County. ( Is Sarah and Rebecca same person or another wife? ) Sarah is
wife with the children in Washington County, VA with Levi. Children are:
Henry B.- born 1815-1820 (1820 I bet on the most). Matilda- b- 1823, William
- b- 1824, and James- b- 1825.
Levi disappears from the census after 1830. ( died? Where buried?) Maybe he
even deserted family (who knows)? Sara his wife age 92 living with daughter
Matilda and husband John Jackson 1880 Washington County,Va.census: Then they
all disappear (WHERE?) Wherever John and Matilda went maybe they took Sarah
and I will find something about them, Would be interested in the names Truman
Canter and wife Cynthia Harris and a Solomon Canter also.
Hope I did not confuse anyone too much, but I stay confused much of the
time on these guys.
