Every now and again, I post the same message in
hopes someone will have data on my Great-Great
Grandfather. I can not find where in Kentucky
he came from. I can give you his Civil War info
that led him to Georgia, where he settled.
Instead, I will post his Obituary hoping some other
Cannon might know something.

MR. N.T. CANNON DEAD AT THE AGE OF 77

Well Known and Highly Esteemed Augustan Passes Away.

Mr. Nathan Thomas Cannon, 77 years old, died
yesterday afternoon at 3:45 o'clock at his residence,
714 Kollock Street, following an extended illness.
Mr. Cannon was born in Kentucky. He has been
a resident of Augusta about nine years, and his many
friends will sympathize with the family in his death.
Funeral services will be held from the residence of
his daughter, Mrs. J.E. Guest 714 Kollock Street, at
4 o'clock this afternoon. Rev. H.D. pace officiating.
Interment will be made in West View.
Besides his wife, Mrs. Mary Cannon, the deceased
is survived by four sons: Messrs. M.H. Cannon,
Greene County, Ga. E.B. Cannon, Columbia, S.C.
J.L. Cannon and L.F. Cannon, of Augusta; Four
Daughters: Mrs. J.E. Guest of Augusta, and Mrs.
G.W. Whittington, of Washington, Ga., Mrs Claude
Beasley of Tallaferro County, Ga. and Mrs. Overton
Lunceford of Tallaferro County, Ga. He has one
brother and sister.
I am descended from J.L. Cannon (James Luther Moss Cannon)
