I apologize for not saving this morning's Cannon listing about Nathaniel
Cannon, b. Kentucky, 1842. Ordinarily I save all Cannon listings in the
hopes they will help me at some point in my research. In going through my
filing cabinet I find someone else working on this. Perhaps you have
connected before, but in the event you haven't I pass this along. The
listings in my cabinet are too old to forward so I will send along the email
addresses:
j_cannon(a)bellsouth.net(Walter J. Cannon) and
Geckofarm(a)aol.com(Tina)
Tina seems to have a lot of material on Nathaniel Thomas Cannon.
While I am at it, I will post my information again in the hopes someone out
there can help me. I am looking for parents/siblings of William Cannon, b.
1809 in SC. He married Cornelia ?, b. GA. 1810. Whether William moved to
Ga. with his parents or as a grown man I do not know. I am also looking for
marriage information on him and Cornelia. They were in Ware Co. Ga. when the
1840 Census was taken and had 5 sons at that time. However, when they showed
up in Alachua Co., Florida in the 1850 census they showed only two sons born
in Ga., James, 1828; and John G.W.(my ggrandfather), b. 1840. Also a
daughter, Mary Jane, b. 1844 in Ga. and two sons in Florida, Berrien, b. 1847
and Joseph G.(Joel) b. 1850. They were not in Ware Co. in 1830. Any help is
greatly appreciated.
I have a body of work done on the Cannons by Edward P. Cannon of Poplar
Bluff, Mo. dated 1977. There is a lot of census information from a lot of
different states, beginning with the first census 1790. There is a good
amount of information on the SC Cannons, Darlington District. I am willing
to do lookups. Please give State, Co., Dates, etc. if you have that
information.
