Researching Joseph CANNON who was born abt 1797 in SC. He married Lucy ?
who was born in TN abt 1807. They were probably married before 1830.
Their children that I know of:
Nathaniel E. born abt. 1830
William Newton born abt. 1833
Mary E. born abt. 1835
Sarah M. born abt 1838
Mahala born abt. 1842
Joseph F. born abt. 1846
This Cannon family was living in Carroll Co, TN in the 1840, 1850 and 1860
censuses. By 1870, I believe the father, Joseph must have died. The mother,
Lucy, is found living with some of her grown son, Joseph, in Greene
County, MO. Near by was another of her sons, William Newton Cannon, with
his wife and children. There was also a Robert Cannon living near by who
might have been related.
This is a white family, but there was a Kinchen CANNON living near them in
the 1870 Greene County, MO census who was black. He was grown and living
with his wife, Mary and daughter, Elizabeth, and was working as a farm
hand.
Would like to correspond with anyone researching CANNON in Carroll Co,
TN, and Greene and Christian Counties in MO.

Subject: Where are you, CANNON cousins?

Cousins,
116 CANNON cousins are on this list. If we post our lines and our
queries,
I'll bet some of us could connect, and increase our chances of
finding
our
ancestors. Within the last two weeks, five descendants of an
ancestor of
another surname - about whom I have been posting for over a year (with NO
success) - have connected!!
PLEASE post your "most wanted" CANNON ancestors to the list within the
next
week!! Please remember to include the location and dates for these
ancestors, if known.
