I am not exactly sure what the time frame of the documents were;
ancestry did not include the dates of the original just the date of the
Magazine that had transcribed them. An educated guess, based on my
knowledge of these Bailey's, would be the early 1800's and definitely no
later than 1870.
Most of my family claims that our Jordan Bailey died ca. 1839, but
some say that this is our Jordan Bailey and he didn't die until the late
1860's. Several researchers have conflicting information, so I was hoping
this approach might help out. What sparked my interest is that, a James and
John Cannon in Pickens co. SC raised some of my Howell family. In
particular, Nancy E. Howell was raised by James Cannon, and she married our
Jordan's grandson Jordan Bailey in 1854.
