I descend from Robert's daughter, Mary "Polly" CANNON.
Marriage record found in Mercer County, Kentucky through e-mail inquiry from
Pam Carey, owner of Mercer County, KY page:
Marriage Bonds and Consents 1786-1810 Mercer County, Kentucky by ISON:
p. 23 CHAMPION, John and Mary CANNON, November 8, 1794
Bondsman: Edward DAVIS
Consent: Robert and Elizabeth CANNON
Teste.: Will Chaplin, Edward Davis, John Cannon
In an e-mail from Gary Watson who has researched the DAVIS family for 25
years, John CHAMPION and John DAVIS were long-time friends. This DAVIS
family migrated from Berkeley and Frederick Counties in VA/WV. Only record
I found on Robert CANNON in this area named a Robert CANNON as a buyer at a
sale.
Guess I should QUIT now because I could go on and on. Richard Swank, also
on this list, descends from this Robert as does Maxine Cunningham, Barbara
Schnitzer and many others.
If any of this sounds like it connects.....please post to list so we all can
read responses. Who knows, maybe this Christmas we will get our wish in
finding Robert!!!!
Happy Thanksgiving!
