the cannons of va to ky were prolific.each time they settled they left
family so are interrelated..there are sites for postmasters of texas who
were in your time period .you would have to ck the census records for the
correct names. the regions and counties in texas have changed over time so
a person may or not be in the county family state.happy hunting .anna

Hi Jan,
In your line of Cannons, do you have any males that
moved to Texas some time before 1860? In the 1900
census for my g-grandfather, Frank D. Cannon b:1876 in
Scott Township, Mississippi county, AR., he indicates
that his father was born in Texas and his mother in
Tennessee. Unfortunately, that's all the info I have
to go on to find my g-g-grandfather. I found one vague
family tree listing for a "J" Cannon that may fit the
bill. Do you have any lines that travel to Texas
possibly back to Arkansas or Tennessee around the end
of the civil war? Any info you may have would be very
helpful to me.
Thanks,
Brian Cannon
