Janice,
Normally, when a cemetery has a surname, it is a family cemetery which
was on the owner's property. There are others buried in these in addition
to the surname, but they are usually close relatives such as a Cannon
daughter marries a Jefferson. Then you may find some Jeffersons buried
there.
