Subject: Re: [CANNON] Cannon LISTOWNER POST-Thanksgiving Dinner
I would invite my 4th gr.grandfather, Samuel Cannon, and ask if
he
were possibly the son of your James! My Samuel was born in S.C. in the
year 1773. His first wife's name was reportedly Sarah _____. His eldest
son was named James, hence the question, in addition to the fact that his
name "Samuel" is the same as your James' brother. (Also a
"John".) A
list of his children...
Mary
James Madison
Frances Keziah
George Washington
John
Samuel - my 3rd gr.grandfather
Temperence
Benjamin Smith
Luctretia
Samuel died bet. August 8 - September 18, 1854, and his will was filed
and probated in Coweta County GA. I have no idea where he is buried.
I've heard he was buried in S.C. with Sarah. By the way, his 2nd wife was
Anna Bragg.
I would feed Samuel a good ol' Southern Thanksgiving Dinner, and bring
him up to date on his descendants...a family he would be oh, so very proud
of! After hearing about his life and family, I'd snuggle up with Grandpa
Cannon and take a lazy afternoon nap!
