In the south the place of birth may reflect the lack of a hospital in the
country or parish where they parents resided.
The reason I started documenting a family history is because of the various
places of births and deaths and even marriages in our family.
I was born in a county 60 some miles from our family residence. My son
was born in another state due to allergy season in our home state. We
then moved south. And the kids married in one state and lived in
another. Oldest grandchild was born in another state due to the hospital
locations. My father died in another parish and then was buried in
another state because of the potential for flooding in our home
parish. There was no way someone could come back in 50 to 100 years to
sort this mess out!
But do try to locate some one close enough to deceased to be able to get
the record if it matters that much. I am not familiar with those two
counties in AL but I would just use both as a reference until you find out
different. They may have lived close to a county line. Just a
suggestion until you can solve!
