Richard M. Cannon 12 Oct 1796-15
Sept 1888 Born in Hamilton Co., OH. He married first to mary
Broderick in Miami Co., OH on 3 June 1817. Married second to Celeste M. Davis.
He died in Shelby county and is believed to be buried at Carey Cem., Turtle
Creek twp where the markers for both of his wives are found. GPI, SH,

First Families of Orange Twp. 1806
The First White settlement made with in the present limits
of Orange Township was made on Section 16 by the Cannon Family in 1806. They
only remained on this land for a short time, when they moved to where Sidney is
now located. Spring of 1809
Revolutionary War Soldiers buried in Shelby County
James Cannon 1756-1828 Born in
Ireland. He married Mary (Polly) Long, Ligionier Co., PA. They moved to Ohio in
1795 and to Shelby county in 1806. Children: Abraham, Catherine, Margaret,
James, Susanna, Richard M., Daniel. He is believed to be buried in Pioneer Cem.,
Hardin.
