Yes, I have a GGGGrandfather Andrew born "In Ireland" in 1785-died in
Eastchester (now Mt. Vernon, NY) on10-10-1855. Married Catherine (unknown)
born "In Ireland" in 1782, married (unknown date & place). Both buried in
Mt. Vernon, NY in St. Paul's Churchyard along with 6 of their children, one
unnamed grandchild who all pre-deceased them and a daughter-in-law, Rhoda
Barton Cannon, married to their son James.
None of the deceased children were named Andrew so I have a feeling there
was an Andrew who moved away at some time and married, had children and died
elsewhere. (There was a Catherine and a Caty who are among the deceased
children according to Church records).
The City Clerk of Eastchester has said that death certificates were not
required prior to 1892, so I can't go that route.
Any suggestions, anyone?
