James T (L) Bagwell, son of Fredrick and Winfred Ellis Bagwell, father of
Laura/Lura Bagwell Cannon, KIA 28 Jul 1864 at Deep Bottom, VA (Frazer's
Farm ?). His grave site is unknown in VA. He enlisted at the beginning of
the war from Laurens County, SC. Laura married Nathan Cannon, son of James
and Juretta ? Cannon of Laurens, SC.
Nathan's grandson, Grady Cannon, stated to me that Nathan served in the war
but his records were lost. He had two of his 5 brothers KIA in the war:
William N. Cannon (age 15) died at South Mountain, MD September 14, 1862
Capers Bowman Cannon (age 28) died at Spotsylvania, VA August 5, 1864
A third brother, James Cannon, b. about 1833, I am not sure of his where
abouts.
Another brother, John Ransom Cannon, b. abt 1838, served the entire war and
survived.
