Hi, Wilma,
Just saw your message on Thomas CANNON. I also have a Thomas M. CANNON, but
have been unable to find his parent's. My info on him is that he was born
in NC, b. on March 1, 1830,(could have started as FINCANNON, and later
shortened to CANNON); but not sure of that. I also think he migrated to
Alabama, where he enlisted in the Civil War. After the war, he moved on to
GA, where he married Mary Clennie Jackson, in 1866. They had at least 10
children (Sarah Frances, James Harvey, Joanna, Dora, Luella, Clennie, Artie,
Benjamin, Julius, and Samuel). Then they moved on to TX around 1890.
Thomas M. is buried in the Annetta Cemetery, in Parker Co., TX. (near
Weatherford). He died in Dec. 1904. His wife, Mary Clennie died in 1914.
If anyone out there can give me a clue on my Thomas M. CANNON, it would be a
blessing. I would love to travel to TX, myself, and try to find him, but am
elderly and disabled, so cannot travel. Please help if you can, and many
thanks. Dorothy Newman dnewman7(a)dslextreme.com

I wish I could find out how these CANNONS connect to mine in OVERTON
CO.,
TN !
Thomas CANNON came from Washington Co., VA to Overton Co., TN early 1800
and his son William had a daughter Martha that married Reuben Jefferson
FINLEY there in Overton. Their daughter Sally Mae married George Paris
HEDRICK and they moved about 1910 to Carroll Co., AR where they had many
relatives aand I was born.
Do you know of any connections to these people.
Wilma
