Hello Shelley,
Is there some way you could copy them and let us all look. I am not sure if it could be a
cousin or uncles child. We know some of the names but not all yet.
Thank You

I've "rescued" two old photographs belonging to the CANON and DAVIS
Families
of Illinois. The first is a photograph of Frank CANON which was taken at
the Lasswell Studio in Peoria, IL. The photograph is dated Oct 19, 1888
with Frank likely in his 20's at the time it was taken. In addition to that
information, someone has written "To Nettie WRIGHT" and "Lelia's
Uncle" on
the back of the photograph. I'm guessing that the photograph was a gift to
Nettie.
The second photograph is one of Mary DAVIS CANON and was taken at the C.
Sympson Studio in Carthage, IL. The photograph also appears to have been
taken in the 1880's with Mary likely in her 20's at the time. In addition
to her name, someone has written "Lelia's Aunt" on the back of the
photograph in the same handwriting as that on the photograph of Frank CANON..
Thanks to the assistance of a CANON or CANNON Family Researcher I have
gathered the following information regarding the couple:
Frank CANNON married Julia M. DAVIS on Sept 9 1888 in Hancock Co. IL
1880 census of Carthage, IL:
Arthur CANNON, age 59
Elizabeth CANNON, wife, age 57
Alvin CANNON, son, age 23
Frank CANNON, son, age 14
I'm hoping to locate someone from this family so that these beautiful old
photographs can be returned to their rightful place, with family. If you
are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please
contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
