I would invite William Cannon, whom I believe was my gg grandfather and his two proven
sons, Charles M. Cannon and William Rufus Cannon. William Cannon was born in Ireland in
1795. He married Mary Morgan probably in South Carolina or Georgia. William Cannon and
son Charles M. Cannon fought in the Texas revolution with Mexico. Charles M. Cannon was
accidentally shot and killed. The William Cannon family was living in Hall County,
Georgia at the time of the 1820 census. They then moved to Limestone County, Alabama.
Mary Morgan Cannon died in Limestone County, AL about 1830-31. William Cannon married in
Limestone County, AL ca 1831-32 to Agnes Kelsey Adams Patterson. William Cannon and son
Charles M. Cannon left Alabama ca 1835 and ended up in Bastrop County, TX. William
Cannon died in Bastrop County, TX in 1851. I would ask William and his two proven sons
if William and Mary Morgan Cannon did not have three older children, Elijah Cannon, Almon
Cannon and Margaret !
Cannon. Almon Cannon who lived in Bedford County, Tennessee from the early 1830s until
1896 was my great grandfather. Elijah Cannon lived in Lincoln County, Tennessee. I
would also ask William to identify his parents. Mary Morgan Cannon by my family
tradition was born in South Carolina.
