I really don't think we want to "know" how many John CANNON's there
are.....boy, they are surely all over the place....along with all their
brothers by the same names!!!!
At one time I thought I had "found" my Robert CANNON and his wife,
Elizabeth. They were from the 96th District in SC and I found the will of
Elizabeth's Father. His surname was BAILEY and it named Elizabeth CANNON as
an heir! Hooray, I had found them. The only bad thing was that mine went
to Mercer / Washington Counties in Kentucky and this particular Robert and
Elizabeth went to Georgia where they were well documented and lived and died
there. So much for my "new" ancestors!!!!!
I'm still looking for Robert CANNON born about 1750 who married an
Elizabeth. Their daughter, Mary "Polly" CANNON married John CHAMPION in
Mercer County, Kentucky. After John died in 1811, Mary migrated with her
family and the McMURTRYs, LUCAS', RICE and allied families to Crawford and
Harrison Counties in Indiana. Eventually mine ended up in Henderson, Knox
County, Illinois. Other members of this same CANNON family migrated to
McDonough County, Illinois.
If anybody knows anything about these CANNONs, I'd love to share
information!
Thanks, Jan Lund

I am wondering how many JOHN CANNON families there are out there who
can't
connect to another family between 1875-1900+-.
