Dear Linda,
You're welcome. I enjoyed doing it for you. I always feel if I can
help some one I will. It is always interesting to read the incidents in the
lives of those that came before us. And in addition, while I am helping some
one else, I may run on to something that I am looking for. Who knows. If I
don't, I've made a friend who is probably a distant relative, and got to read
some interesting material in the process.
I have been able to run the history of my great grandmother,
Catherine Van Horn back to Holland and beyond into ancient times. It is James Cannon,
my g-
grandfather that has been so elusive. But I haven't given up. I would
appreciate it, if you run on to anything, you clue me in.
When you see the word "Ahnentefel" at the bottom of a family tree,
click on it. It will contain that persons ancestry. I forget, I think the word
is of German origin. It will give parents, dates, places, like a pedigree,
except in paragraph form instead of chart format, and will sometimes run back
for several generations. They are very helpful. I think you will enjoy
Ancestry.com, I sure do.
Maybe we will talk again sometime. Good Luck. Gladys
