Doug Foster (it appreas that we are 6th cousins once removed, or
something like that) sent me this link
http://dutchforkchapter.org/html/cannon_john.html.
The link has excerpts from a book called "Cannon History" written by
Yancey J. Dickert (1994). This book goes back to John Cannon, a son of
Rich Cannon of County Dover, England. John came to our shores on the
ship "Minerva" as an indentured servant at the age of 18, in 1730, and
his brother Daniel followed a few years later. . . . and so on. It
begins about 3 generations before Clarence Cannon's "The Cannon Book".
Obviously it's a fascinating document. Do any of you know a way to
obtain a copy of the entire book?
Amazon.com and Abebooks can't help.
I'd appreciate any suggestions you have.
Best wishes for a good holiday, and thanks again, Doug.
