(1) C.S. Williams implies that Andrew was a descendant of Andries Canon
through his son Abraham and that they were in Staten Island, NY by 1656. The
Deyo Family History indicates that an Andre Canon and Jeanne Pluquet are in
the Manheim Church records in France/Germany near the Rhine River with the
baptism and birth of their son Abraham in 1670. At least one record of the
Dutch Reformed Church of New York has Andre Canon and his wife Jean Pluck and
she is listed as Peecee or Picket but never as Pearce. Pearce is from C. S.
Williams book written in 1912
(2) Birthplace information comes from Ralph W. Cannon's death certificate.
Denver, Indiana is located in Miami County and Logansport in Cass County.
Informant was my Grandfather Robert Lee Cannon.
(3) The 1850 Census for Cass County (Logansport) has the family of Georg H.
Cannon who was druggist and born in Connectticut. His wife was Marth and she
was born in NY. The had a 10 year old son named George W. Cannon.
(4) The line back was done by C.S. Williams and I have verified most of it
back to Andrew Cannon bca 1651. Also, I should point out that Barb Nairn
first clued me into this connection and she has done a lot of work on the
line as well.
