Hi Janice,
I just learned that my Robert Cannon, b. about 1775 in SC, and had several
children in KY, may have had a daughter born in Illinois between 1810 and
1815. In 1850 census, Claiborne or Bossier Parish, LA, this Rebecca Canon
who married Elisha Shaver, b. TN, says she was born in Illinois. Two Cannon
sister married two Shaver brothers. In 1860 census, Rebecca says she was
born 5 years later and in Alabama, which is confusing. All his other 3
children that I have identified say they were born in KY.
Dorcas abt 1804 KY
Nancy abt 1805-1811 KY
Rebecca b. abt 1815-1820 IL or AL?
Benjamin E. abt 1820 KY
Maybe my Robert Cannon was in Illinois at some time.
SC>KY>IL?>KY>AL?>LA>TX. That seems like too much traveling to me.
Marcella

Janice, I am from the same CANNON line as Richard through Robert,
Sr's
daughter, Mary "Polly" CANNON who married John CHAMPION in Mercer County,
Kentucky in 1794.
After John died, Mary went with her children and others to Hardin County,
Kentucky. Then they were in Crawford County, Indiana where their
daughter,
Ruth CHAMPION married William McMURTRY. From there they went to
Knox
County, Illinois and mine went on to Iowa.
I found some deeds from Caldwell County which I may have sent you before.
It named a Robert CANNON "of Illinois" and I don't think we've been
able
to
verify that this is "NOT" our Robert, Jr.
Let me know if you want me to post the deeds, please.
