Jan, At this time I don't think I need the Caldwell Co. deeds info. My line
is pretty well documented there. BUT........if you have one in the name of
John CANNON anytime within, say, 1820-1830, I would very much like to have that
one.
My 4xgrandfather, John, sold his land in 1821, I think it was, and
disappeared. His land was next to his son, Israel (my line), and he sold the property
to him. This was just a couple of years after John's marriage to a Rachel
WOOTEN. It drives me crazy trying to find out what those two were up to. He
marries what we believe to be wife #3, sells his land, and checks out. I have
been on the Wooten list for a couple of years, but have not had any success. I
believe she was a widow at the time of this marriage, so Wooten would not have
been her maiden name.
John's oldest dau, Jemima, had already moved with her husband to ILL, so
perhaps that's where he went.
Anyway, if you find anything with the name John attached, I'd like to see it.
much thanks,
Janice
