Good evening,
I'm not seeing any of my Cannons here, but the name Pugh is very familiar.
You may want to try some east coast census in particular MD or DE or
Revolutionary records.
I applaud your efforts and wish you the best of luck.

Subject: [CANNON] PUGH - LEONARD - CANNON Family Baby Book
I've "rescued" an old baby book belonging to Leonard Allen PUGH born to
Mary
Dorcas or Dorcas Mary LEONARD and Clarence Allen PUGH on 11 July 1915 in
Long Beach, CA. His Grandparents on his Mother's side are noted as Thomas
LEONARD and Rissa LEONARD and his paternal Grandparents are listed as Mr.
&
Mrs. W. T. PUGH. Based on limited research we were able to gather
the
following information regarding this family:
Leonard A. PUGH was b. 11 Jul 1915 in California. Leonard's birth father
was Clarence Allen PUGH b. 24 Jun 1892 in Kansas to parents William T.
PUGH
(b. 1866) and Cora E. PUGH (b. 1867). Clarence had only one sibling,
a
brother Harry Albert PUGH (1895-1930). His birth Father died in Seattle,
WA
on 4 Sept 1953. His Mother was Mary Dorcas or Dorcas Mary LEONARD b.
Jan
1899 in Kansas City, MO to parents Thomas LEONARD and Larissa or Laurissa
"Rissa" Ann Mary BOLDS, one of 9 children born to this couple including,
Bisdale; Otto R.; Mary Dorcas; Ethel; Eakley; Thomas E.; Evelyn; Loraine;
and George H. LEONARD, all born between 1897 and 1914. Leonard's Mother
died abt 1980 in San Francisco, CA.
It appears that Clarence and Mary Dorcas divorced and she remarried John
M.
CANNON (b. 1887) and Leonard was adopted by him and his name changed
to
Leonard A. CANNON. There appears to have been other children adopted or
born to this couple. Leonard had two siblings including a brother Fred
R.
CANNON (1916-1996). Leonard married Gladys R. PAXTON (1915-2008) and
they
had three children including, Joan Marie; Linda Ruth; and Leonard E.
CANNON.
Leonard A. CANNON d. 19 Jun 1972 in Escondido, CA and is buried in the Oak
Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Escondido, CA.
Census records provide the following details regarding this family:
1920 census of Huntington Park, CA: - in a Children's Home

1930 census of Downey, CA:

England/IL
Leonard A. CANNON, son, age 14, born CA

I am hoping to locate someone from Leonard's family so that this wonderful
old treasure can be returned to the care of family. If you are a member
of
this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley

The flag does not fly because of the wind that blows it.
The flag flies because each soldier’s last breath blows by it.
It's the Military, not the politicians that ensures our right to life,
liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. It's the Military who
salutes the flag, who serves beneath the flag, and whose coffin
is draped by the flag.
