James's son John R. M. Cannon is my ancestor. John R. M. Cannon was born 11
FEB 1811 and died 20 MAR 1888 in Oconee County, South Carolina. Having two
middle initials makes him stand out from the other John Cannon's in the old
records. I do not know what the R. M. stands for.
I have been to Mourning's grave site but not to my John's!
This branch of Cannon's is Northwest Irish (M222+) and matches the Y-DNA of
the Newberry County, SC Cannon's.
