Hi Bev, did you mean to post this to a CANNON surname? You use Nix as the surname in your
line.
I have no record of any of my lines moving south....they all migrated with the Scots-Irish
who went north thru Indiana, Illinois, Nebraska, Missouri and Kansas.
Sorry, Janice

Hi I believe this is the same as my hubbys line. from SC they landed in
Ark and then wandered to Texas.
Children were:
1. George B Nix b 1795 SC d 1853 Smith Twnship,
Married to Naomi Chandler.
2. Barbara Nix b 1797 SC d 1853
3. Susan Nix b 1798 SC
4. Isham J Jix b 1799 SC m 1834 to Martha Atkins in Harris Co GA, d Jul
16 1850 Manchester, Dallas Co AR. He had 8 children.
5. Darling Nix b Oct 8 1801 SC m 3 Nov 1842 to Nancy Caroline Hartman d
Sep 25 1873 Dallas Co Ar (buried Hunters Chapel, Malvern, Dallas Co)
moved to Ark ~ 1855
6 James A Nix b 1803 GA m Elizabeth d 1849
7. Nicholas A Nix b 1803 GA m Elizabeth Burch 1826 in Rabun Co GA
8. Gabriel Nix b 1804 GA m 13 Jun 1843 to Catherine Williams Tallapassa
Co AL, d 1869 Manning, Dallas Co AR (buried Pleasant Hills Cemetary)
9. Orpha Nix b 1806 GA
10. Lucinda Nix b 1807 GA (not sure about this child)
11. (my ancestor)Reuben Christian Nix b 1812 GA m Dec 10 1832 Amarylis
Williams.

My 4x grandfather....John CANNON was in SC up until 1805. He removed
to
Caldwell Co., KY....in 1824 he sells his land to his son Israel CANNON
and disappears.
When I look at my ancestral tree chart I have 3 RW Vets (not CANNON
surname) and my John is right there on the same parallel line as the
others. By systematic calculations he could/should have been b. circa
1760, and would have most likely fought in the RW. Since he disappeared
before claiming pension in 1832 I have no way of proving his military
service.
Anyone got any ideas?...he's been our brickwall for many years. We can't
connect him to the Cannon's Creek line, because that John's LWT doesn't
fit.
thanks and best regards,
Janice (Cannon)
