My John Cannon died 1807 Sumter Dist. S.C. His wife Jemima Broughton born
1765 SC went on through Greene Co. Ga. on a wagon trail to Al. and died
there 1854. She had remarried John Randall- I am not sure-SC, or Al.
Several of the children were in Monroe Co. Al., and at least two stopped off
with some of the Broughton's in Greene Co. Al.
Were there any other Cannon's in Sumter Dist. SC????
Ms. Gerry Hill-Albany Ga.
I am interested in corresponding with anyone who has Cannons in Rowan
County, North Carolina during the 1760s. I am especially interested in
anyone who may have data on the parents of Joseph Cannon, born in 1760,
who married Nancy Sitton.

Just a quick response. You will probably come across my dad who is Thomas Cannon. He was born about 1926 and married in 1952. I was born in 1954 (also Thomas born in Philly) and we moved to Emmaus, PA circa 1959. So you can cross out those two Thomas Cannons off. No other Thomas Cannons in my lines I have researched thus far.

Ed,
My branch is from Sussex County (Seaford area) and/or adjoining Dorchester County. I can trace back to 1850 but going back before this is tough. Ironically, my line branches into Cannons for both husband and wife (two lines).

I am still looking for any help on finding the parents of my gg grandfather, James L. CANNON. According to the 1850 census for Gibson County, Tennessee, he was born in Tennessee and was born circa 1815. This is my big brick wall - I have thus far been unable to determine where in Tennessee he was born and who is parents were. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Jewelle, your line is absolutely the earliest I have heard of any CANNONs
except one who was here in the 1620s...great work finding him! I would be very
interested in the downline of your Thomas....could you send a kind of sketchy
outline (make it easy on yourself) to the list so we can all see if anyone fits
in.....much thanks,
Janice in Idaho

Subject: [CANNON] Cannons in Philadelphia
> THOMAS CANNON in Philadelphia, PA is my brick wall. He is my great
grandfather, married Anna Reinhardt sometime before 1895. Their children
were WILLIAM, JOHN, GERTRUDE AND ANTHONY. I find no evidence of him
anywhere, other than listed as deceased on his children's marriage licenses.
I find the family living in St. Anne's Parish in 1920, but nothing prior to
that. Does any of this sound familiar to anyone??

Greetings!
My great great grandfather Bartholomew M. Cannon brought his son Isaac T. Cannon to Philly circa 1892 from Seaford, DE. My grandfather continued to live in Philly, Edwin Noble Cannon (one of Isaac's 3 sons) and both my dad and I were born in Philly. Edwin and his wife Lennie Blace lived on Lee Street. I was born in Albert Einstein hospital in 1954 and lived on Olney Avenue. My dad Thomas moved us to Emmaus, PA circa 1959.
