I am searching for the parish of birth c. 1798 in Louisiana and the parents
of JAMES JOSEPH CANNON. He married ELIZABETH LIGHTENER between 1832 and 1834
but I can't find where the marriage took place.
Their first child, MARY HELENE CANNON was born in Baton Rouge, LA in 1834
but I have found no records of a marriage for her parents there. The second
child, MARGARET, was born in Ohio (possibly Cincinnati) in 1837. CATHERINE
b. 1841 in Louisiana, JAMES J. b.1843 in Louisiana, MARTHA b.1846 in Ohio and
CHARLES G. b.1847 in Ohio.
The CANNON family remained in Cincinnati, Ohio where JAMES JOSEPH died in
1879.
Any help in finding his parents' names, parish of birth in Louisiana and
where his marriage occurred would be greatly appreciated.

This is in response to the person who posted a message about William
Cannon, who died in DeKalb Co, GA in late 1829 or early 1830.
I found some information on this family in a book I have, but it may not
be more than what you already have. The info was contributed by Mary E.
Cannon, Rt 1 , Adams Way, Oxford GA 30267. The book was published in
1977. Perhaps this is someone you know.
It does say that William Cannon was born in South Carolina. It also
says his wife Mary(Polly) was born about 1795 in S. Carolina; both dying
in Georgia with no other dates.
It also lists the children you mentioned, their spouses, and their
children.
If you don't have all this information, I will be happy to give you
what I have.

My gg grandfather was James L. CANNON, born (according to the 1850 census)in Tennessee circa 1815. I am trying to determine where in Tennessee he was born and who his parents were. I last know him to be in Gibson County, Tennessee, on the tax list for 1854. Any help or suggestions would be enormously appreciated.
