Does anyone have any information that may help? My gr,gr grandfather, Duke Canning came to
the US probably about 1850-to Brooklyn,NY. Married Isabella Fee, b. Co Longford, Ire
1835-d.Brooklyn, NY 1905. Duke may have been James Duke. He may have been from Co.
Longford or Northern Ire. They had four children, William C-Brooklyn, James D,
Isabella(m. Byrne)-Brooklyn- and Harriet (m. George W. Dewey-lived in NJ). I believe this
branch was Catholic-William is buried in Holy Cross Cemetery, but his mother's death
cert has Holy Cross-crossed out and she was buried in the plot of a Presbyterian church at
Green-Wood Cemetery. Thanks
