According to the 1911 census
http://www.census.nationalarchives.ie/
there were 48 of the name in Wexford. Newtownbarry is today known as
Bunclody. You are probably aware that the south east coast of Ireland
has a traditional link with Newfoundland and the accent of people in
that part of Canada has overtones of the style of speech from Waterford
and Wexford

I've been trying to find the rest of my ancestor's family in Ireland for
sometime now. His name was Martin Canning he was born in Wexford Ireland
in 1795 and moved to Newfoundland Canada circa 1820's to become a
fisherman. He married Bridget Murphy (b. 1812) and she followed Martin
to Newfoundland. Any hints or help would be much appreciated.
