Of our ten test results, six fall into three groups, and two of the four awaiting a match
are a Mc variation. It is really quite remarkable that such a broad project, with only ten
results, is already on the way to identifying three lines!
NEW MATCH. J 3, a new participant, matches T 2's first 12 markers. Will they match on
all 25? (The lab has had trouble with the last four markers of T 2's remaining 13 -
they've been running repeated tests.)
Other new results (no matches yet) include two participants with Irish roots. These
participants live in Canada and the UK. We hope more Irish participants will join the
project soon. And, of course, our McKenna (Irish roots) and McKenney participants are
eager for some of their "cousins" (other McK______ folks) to test. The two Dutch
cousins (confirmed by DNA) are working hard to find evidence of their common ancestor. Are
there others out there who think they descend from that old Dutch line?
We still don't have a "tie breaker" on the "Thomas" line. Two
participants state they descend from grandsons of Thomas - H 1 from Henry of MA and P 2
from Alexander of CT - but they don't match. The participant with a close match to H 1
can't break the tie because his line only goes to 1820. We need participants from the
Henry and Alexander lines to help resolve this! A discussion here about the
evidence/documentation of the names of the parents of Henry and Alexander would be
extremely helpful.
